Apparaten compatibel met Zigbee
Zigbee is een communicatieprotocol dat speciaal is ontworpen voor smart home. Met Zigbee kunnen slimme apparaten, zoals een rookmelder of bewegingssensor, worden verbonden en met elkaar praten. Zigbee werkt met een mesh netwerk. In zo'n netwerk staan apparaten niet alleen in verbinding met een centraal punt, maar ook met elkaar. Dit vergroot het bereik en de betrouwbaarheid van je smart home systeem. Dankzij deze stabiele en betrouwbare verbinding kunnen signalen via meerdere routes worden verzonden. Wanneer één apparaat uitvalt, blijven de anderen met elkaar verbonden. Ook gebruiken slimme apparaten met Zigbee weinig energie, waardoor de batterijen langer meegaan. Veel fabrikanten maken producten voor het Zigbee protocol. Zo is er genoeg keus uit verschillende producten voor jouw slimme huis. Houd er wel rekening mee dat je een Zigbee hub of bridge nodig hebt om te kunnen verbinden met jouw smartphone.
