Bluetooth LE (Bluetooth Low Energy)
Bluetooth LE biedt een betrouwbare en energiezuinige manier om je slimme apparaten met elkaar te verbinden. Hiermee maak je snel en eenvoudig een draadloze verbinding tussen een smartphone of tablet en smart home apparaten. Voor dit protocol heb je dus geen aparte hub of bridge nodig. Bluetooth LE is ideaal voor het versturen van kleine hoeveelheden data op korte afstanden. Er wordt gebruik gemaakt van dezelfde frequentie als wifi (2,4 GHz). Bluetooth LE staat voor Bluetooth Low Energy. Dat betekent dat deze versie van bluetooth weinig energie gebruikt en dus zuinig is. Daardoor gaan de batterijen van je slimme apparaten jarenlang mee.
